CELEBRATING OUR 15TH ANIVERSARY PREMIERING OUR PERSONAL VERSION OF “THE RITE OF SPRING" AND “THE AFTERNOON OF A FAUN” IN HONOR TO THE RUSSIAN BALLET
The Rite of Spring and The Afternoon of a Faun are a major challenge both, the musical composition and the historical reference. From the company´s language and technique, we want to join to the recent tributes offered at mythical formation. In this new show we faced both with the intention of giving a personal and consistent vision with the history of the company. As choreographer, to put up this show , brings an enormous wealth experiential both personal and professional. An actualized reading of "Furtivo (Odeim)" will complete this program made for the enjoyment of the audience. After 15 years leading CienfuegosDanza and in full celebration , for me it's a gamble forward.
THE RITE OF SPRING
With Igor Stravinsky's music and he choreographed by Vaslav Nijinsky's, The Rite of Spring was premiered 100 years ago, it was a revolution and innovative work that acted as revulsive effect in the epoch. The pass of time has been granting to this work the category of milestone in the scenic creation, so much for the academic world as in the fields artistically, musically and choreographic. CienfuegosDanza presents a vision of this masterpiece for seven dancers with direction and choreography by Yoshua Cienfuegos. To face a work of such musical and choreographic significance is a risk assumed from the major respect and responsibility.
THE AFTERNOON OF A FAUN
With music by Claude Debussy, it was the first ballet created by Nijinsky. A review of a classic that broke with many of the hitherto existing schemes. It continues to be an eternal benchmark.
An actualized reading for eight dancers of Furtivo created for our previous show ODEIM, will complete this program made for the enjoyment of the audience.
