“Meat nailed to matter in four points,

a vapour of language.

When the dream becomes flesh,

I now remember —it changes”.

Theorem is a performance and research project by Javier Martín that explores the sounds and movements inside the body to uncover memories and generate new sensibilities. In Theorem, the resonances of the inner body make up the soundscape where dance takes place, by forming a spatial pentagram in which the objects —smoke, coal, rope, ice, glass— are mysteriously arranged to bloom on their own, unaided. The dancing body animates the space for dance. The symphony of the body is the symphony of space and vice versa. A reflection on the relationship between interiority and exteriority, between matter and memory, which inspires us to question and break the inertia through which we perceive ourselves and relate to our surroundings. Nothing is as it seems, and yet we work with what is available: "Proof that science makes promises that only the flesh fulfils, in a very mysterious way" (Roberto Fratini).  Choreography, flesh, and grammar.
