Lucía Vázquez and Satoshi Kudo collaborate again in a new dance piece: Hasekura project presents a symbiosis between Japan and Spain, contemporary dance, traditional Japanese music and contemporary Spanish music, contemporary painting made with traditional techniques of Japanese calligraphy and most importantly, the creation between artists from these two countries and cultures so different and what each of them in their artistic field and role in the show, has explored to connect history and modernity.
Starting from the history of Hasekura Tsunenaga, the journey he undertook as Sendai’s ambassador until his arrival in 1615 in Spain and the legacy he left in the Sevillian municipality of Coria del Río in the form of the family name Japón, is proposed in this contemporary dance piece with live music a story that could have happened, or not, in that historic event, just like more than 400 years later its protagonists have felt it.Credits and datasheet Premiered: 06/03/2020 / Available
