cap. III Black Through Red Reinaldo Ribeiro

"A ritual, a drift, a relationship at a distance and in time through the color red." The investigation of chapter III seeks to focus on the color RED and its relationships between blackness , territory , identity and in all the axes that support these three pillars such as: migration, periphery, violence, gender perspective, decolonial gaze, narratives and future). The practice proposes a commitment on the part of the artist and the spectator, who will be challenged throughout the year, once a month, for twelve months through postcards sent by mail. It begins with an encounter with a group of people. A kind of ritual / drift as a reason to start that postal relationship. A walk that varies between 60 and 90 minutes where the artist (Reinaldo Ribeiro), by sharing texts, experiences and group dynamics invites reflection around blackness and ancestry. Twelve postcards, twelve different reds, one red per month. The ritual that exists behind each postcard is what sustains that small act that allows each viewer to generate/create/fabulate their own work, like a puzzle that is created and expanding when receiving in their hands, once a month, that different red, that provokes, that invites.
