La petita malumaluga is a music and dance company specialized in shows for the very young (0-6 years) with a wide professional experience working with some of Europe’s most significant companies.
Their directors, Eva Vilamitjana and Albert Vilà, have worked in some of the most well-known international theatres: the Barbican (London), the Karl Marx theatre (Habana), Sadlers Wells (London), Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), Mercat de les Flors (Barcelona), and they have performed with Hofesh Shechter, Theater O, Estopa, Nats Nus, El petit Liceu, Pepe Hevia, Buissonière, Modern Romance and more.
Eva is a seasoned dancer and choreographer. She studied her Degree at the Escola Superior de Dansa i Coreografia Institut del Teatre (Barcelona).
She has received many awards from the following: International Tanzwochen Wien, 1993. Nikolais Louis Dance Lab, 1994. First prize from Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid, 1993. Third Prize Premi Nacional de Dansa Ricard Moragas, 1992. First prize Premi Nacional de Dansa Ricard Moragas, 1993. First prize Premio Nacional de Danza, 1996. First prize Certamen Coreográfico de Maspalomas, 2000. Edinburgh Festival Total Theatre Award Winners, 2000.
As a dancer she has worked with Joe Alegado, Trànsit, Las Malqueridas, Pepe Hevia, Nats Nus, Petit Liceu (Barcelona), Cia. Buissonnière (Lausanne), Theater O (London), Cia Paul en Menno de Nooijer (Amsterdam).
As a assistant director she worked on Ruleta, ópera para un fin de siglo and Gaetano Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore.
As a choreographer: Teather O “Three Dark Tales”, Entre Tres “Quasi pesa”, Eva Vilamitjana “Iaxis Re”, “Desmai” and the musical “Voyage”.
She has also lectured at the Institut del Teatre (Barcelona), Cia Buissonnière (Lausanne) and Theater O (London).
Albert Vila is a percussionist, arranger and composer. He has performed, recorded and/or toured with Modern Romance (Shrek soundtrack), Chi 2 (Moby, Anastacia) top spanish band Estopa, Alec Dankworth Spanish Accents, the Hofesh Schechter Dance Company and some of the most wellknown percussionists Giovanni Hidalgo, Dave Weckl, Luis Conte.
He has worked for record labels like BMG SONY, DIVUCSA and PICAP. His recording experience includes TV jingles and movie soundtracks.
Albert has taught at London Center of Contemporary Music, Royal Academy of Dance, Conservatori Superior del Liceu de Barcelona, L’Aula (associated school to Berklee College of Music) and Universitat Autonòma de Barcelona. He is a regular contributor at Drummer Magazine.
As an arranger and composer he has written works for ensembles ranging from jazz big-band to classical symphony orchestra. Albert has studied in Cuba, holds a bachelor degree from Berklee College of Music (Boston), ESMUC (Barcelona) and a golden award diploma from the Musicians Institute London.
Since 2005 Albert works with Percussity facilitating team building events and workshops around Europe.Credits and datasheet Not available
