Carmina Burana, directed by Maria Rovira and created specifically for the Centre Cultural Terrassa,it gathers both local and international dancers who have ballet and contemporary dance background. CarminaBuranagoes accompanied with the music of two pianists, seven percussionists and many choirs. The staging promises a unique resolution full of sensibility, care of the detail and offering and unexpected finale.

The poems that inspired the composer Carl Orff, speak about the exaltation of the senses, the pleasure of experimenting to the maximum the earthly life, the substance, lust, money, a group of distorted values that causes this opposed extremism to the religious values of that period.

THE STAGING PROMISES A UNIQUE RESOLUTION FULL OF SENSIBILITY, CARE OF THE DETAIL AND OFFERING AND UNEXPECTED FINALE.

Carmina Burana means “popular songs of Beuren” and it is about a set of 228 goliard texts (probably of the XIII century) that include little poems, stage scenes and songs written in Latin, except some of them written in medieval German.

The manuscript was found in 1803 in the Bavarian monastery of Beneditkbeuren.

The Goliards were a kind of troubadours, who often used Latin to joke, to sing love and infatuation songs during spring, or to laugh about kings and popes. The texts can be arranged in three blocks: the Spring, the Tavern and the Court of love, with a prologue (the well known O Fortuna…) and a finale.
